The project officially kicked off in April 2023 at the Rebuild Ukraine conference in Rome, graced by the presence of Italy’s Prime Minister, Ms. Giorgia Meloni, and key players from Italy’s leading industrial business groups.

Among the delegation were:

– Giammarco Ribaudo, Construction and Shunting Specialist;
– Claudio Fermani, Project Design Specialist.

We together spent two impactful days exploring Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, and the surrounding areas, immersing themselves in the region’s transportation infrastructure. They engaged with representatives from Ukrainian Railways (UZ), regional administration, and the Agricon project team to finalize and verify technical solutions.

We are confident that the implementation of the Horonda Platform project will unlock the economic potential of the region, create jobs, and pave the way for prosperity. This venture is poised to make a positive impact on the country’s economy and serve as a key entry point for global business in Ukraine’s post-victory recovery.

Not shying away from a bit of wisdom, we borrow a quote from Lao Tzu: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – and indeed, we’ve taken that step. The advanced experience and technologies in railway logistics form the bedrock of our project. Now, our partners are keen to explore expanding their influence in developing the entire railway infrastructure of the region.

With the support of the government, partners, and, most importantly, the people of Zakarpattia, we believe that the next steps will be equally confident, precise, and inspiring.
